Privacy Policy

Decider Golf is a free web app for running your own golf tournament. This policy explains what we hold, why, and what you can do about it. It is written to describe what the app actually does.

What we collect

  • Your account: name, email address and a password stored only as a one-way hash. We never see or store your actual password.
  • Your golf: handicap, scores, match results, and anything you add to a profile — nickname, home club, bio.
  • What you post: banter messages and photos you upload, along with who posted them and when.
  • An audit trail: score edits and organiser overrides are logged and shown to everyone in the cup. This is the anti-cheat mechanism, and it is deliberately visible rather than hidden.

What we do not collect

No location tracking, no advertising profile built from your play, and no payment details — Decider Golf never processes money. Where a cup tracks a prize pot, it records who owes what and nothing more; settling up happens between you.

Who can see your cup

Anyone with the link can view a cup's public scoreboard, because that is the point of sharing it. A cup is not listed in search engines unless its organiser explicitly opts in — the default is no indexing. Invite codes, email addresses and handicaps are never shown on the public page.

Cookies

One essential cookie keeps you signed in. It is signed, http-only, and not readable by scripts. We do not use analytics cookies to track you across other websites.

Public content pages may display advertising from Google AdSense, which sets its own cookies. Where required, Google's consent tool asks your permission first. You can review Google's practices at policies.google.com. Advertising never appears inside a live tournament.

Third parties

  • Vercel — hosting.
  • Supabase — database and file storage.
  • GolfCourseAPI — course scorecards. We send it course names you search for, never anything about you.
  • Google AdSense — advertising on public content pages only.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email hello@metategroup.comand we will action it. Deleting your account removes your profile, your posts and your photos. Scores from completed matches remain in the cup's records, because removing one player's scores would falsify everyone else's results — those are anonymised rather than deleted.

Children

Decider Golf is not intended for under-13s and we do not knowingly collect their data.
